Everything's back to normal. I found that after the restore, win kept the BMS as is with the changed settings. Lessons learned I guess. I'm making a new backup anyways, just in case and will retry the mod again at the next meet up.

I will be doing that later today. With the sim closed of course lol. In the midst of doing repairs, win kept wanting to do backups and scans and the like. Very annoying and it seemed to forget who was in charge. After I gave it a drink of water, everything was fine and the repairs were made. I was back on at 11pm my time but you all were long gone and probably asleep. The sim is working fine, I made a fresh restore point (my last one was 2 months ago lol), and all the virus' have been captured, executed and buried. My win will live to fight another day.
