Saw this article over at BMS and thought that it might be of use to some of us. Especially after the carnage we experienced last night and hearing JB simply state: "We gotta learn how to work together...". LOL!

Not that I'm dismissing the idea of working together or looking at tips, BUT, last night we were a victim of circumstances due to someone not having the mission.dat file installed as I pointed out in my mission.dat thread.

We had two ship missions instead of 4 ship and then when JB and I got shot down, we all ended up in our own flight, although I joined JB eventually, but the AI had already gone Bingo in my bird.

So yes, it was a bit CHAOTIC. That's it, lets call our VFW "CHAOS REIGNS"!!! Twisted Evil

Ya I've been watching Krause's tutorials and multiplayer flights for sometime at youtube and the thing that I like about their approuch to the game is that they work as a team. They know their responsibilities when in the air (or maybe not good enough on Krause's opinion), but at least they have some SOP's there.

I know you guys want to keep the fliying simple and just have fun, but getting shot down is not fun Very Happy atleast for me.

I'm not saying we should be that serious about our flying, but I think we would enjoy our time in the air alot more when we learn to better work as a team. Look after each other and get the whole flight back to base in one peace.

And of course it helps when we're all in the same flight. Too many lone cowboys in the air otherwise...

In truth, as RAM was speaking about, most of our flights don't go off like last night. We generally stay together (being in the same package helps) and work together. Maybe all our lingo isn't 100%, but it's not normally a scene from the wild west. I was exaggerating and having a little fun above.

The teamwork will come. We haven't been flying together for long, so i'm not worried. A few helpers and pointers along the way are welcome, but i don't want to lose sight of why i'm doing this... to have fun!! As soon as someone starts yelling at me for missing the primary target or not downing the MiG in time... that's when i start working 14 hours days again!! I don't think anyone here is the type of person that would engage in such activities... but i've seen videos on youtube where "someone" (who shall remain nameless) yells out "Kill something now or you're off the fucking squad!!". It's this type of mentality that has driven most of us here away from other online communities.

Oh yeah, that and saluting others. Although it would be nice if someone would acknowledge my new(ish) Captaincy!! Laughing

You're probably right, Harlequin.

I'm still kind of learning the style you guys fly and I guess I'm still learning my own style too since I am a MP flight rookie still Razz

Sorry I sometimes get over excited about something and go ahead with things too much Embarassed

I'm not worried either. It will come in time.

I know what you mean when you say yelling at someone if they made a mistake. That's not nice and it's not a way to treat other ppl.

You guys made me feel welcome right from the start and that's something I really appreciate.

So thanks for the invite, sir Captain sir jocolor

Well said gentlemen, I don't like Rufus's style, NOT AT ALL.

That is not what we aspire to be. I have spent thousands and thousands of hours flying Falcon in Single Player and in testing my work in FreeFalcon and BMS.

I discovered the world of awesomeness in MP. I flew over at VG and made some really great friends. The closest ones are here now at Viper Connect.

I would never go fly at any other place with any other guys. I found and have helped with this home we have built and I've never thought twice about going outside this house.

We DON'T have rules, we are "fly by the seat of your pants" kind of guys.

Yes, I agree, maybe a little more work on our lingo/terminology. I for one will admit, I NEED TO GET ON BOARD with Bullseye terminology calls. Spaz(I think it was him, taught me a quick way), I have since lost that knowledge due to getting my head dick deep in developing and of course this issues in my personal life.

We'll get it done and I look forward to it. I have many, and I mean many tactics that will blow the minds of the opposition when we put together our flights. I'm sure at first it will take some practice but I'm almost 100% positive they'll NEVER know WHAT hit them. Twisted Evil

I'm totally excited to get this BALL rolling,

Cheers,

Brian

The Bullseye is kinda tricky.
When I fly singleplayer, I use WDP to export datacards and mission maps with bullseye information to my laptop. So I can quickly refer to that about bullseye location.

I know it's not the best nor the quickest way to do it. Sometimes I try to use the HSI to determine bandits position from mine.

I usually reposition the bullseye close to my target area so I can more quickly tell if a bandit is a threat to my flight.

Okay now all this talking about flying is starting to piss me off. Anyone flying tonite? What a Face I need to get in the air bounce

edit: I'll check back after the hockey game (rangers-senators)
